Travel Design
for Getaways Worthy of Your PTO
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to make travel easy, accessible, and genuinely restorative for the people who need it most.
We know what it’s like to work unpredictable hours, manage multiple responsibilities, and squeeze personal time into tight schedules. That’s why Travel Help Stat was built—to give medical professionals and busy travelers a trusted partner who understands their world and plans travel with care, precision, and heart. Whether it's a quick weekend reset, a cruise to recharge, or a long-awaited getaway timed perfectly with PTO, we help you make every moment count.
Travel Help Stat began with a simple realization:
Medical professionals deserve better travel support. We know they're not the only ones.
Our Story
As a Certified Surgical Technologist, our founder, Sheryl Jeffrey, experienced firsthand how hard it is to plan meaningful travel while balancing shift work and limited PTO windows.
She noticed that most travel services weren’t built for people with especially rigid, or unpredictable schedules—nor for people who didn’t have hours to research trips after a 12-hour shift.
So she created Travel Help Stat, powered by Gettysburg Travel Co., to provide:
- Personalized travel planning
- Faster communication
- Real human guidance
- A stress-free path to restorative vacations
Today, Travel Help Stat serves travelers nationwide, helping nurses, techs, medical teams, and busy families enjoy getaways that feel effortless from start to finish.
What Makes Us Different
- Trips designed around limited PTO and shift-life realities
- Clear, transparent communication with no overwhelm
- Worry-free planning from an advisor who handles the details
- A caring, human approach built around the needs of real travelers
Meet Sheryl Jeffrey
Owner, Agent, Administrator
Hi, I’m Sheryl Jeffrey — owner of Gettysburg Travel Co. and administrator of TravelHelpSTAT.com. I’m a Certified Surgical Technologist still scrubbing in Northern Virginia. Married with two college-age kids (one each undergrad and graduate), I live in lovely Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
I did not have the travel bug early-on; it bit during my years at the University of Texas at Austin. I didn’t make it far beyond the city limits. Nor could I afterward, having majored in pre-poverty and graduated with a degree in journalism.
A few years of later, I received a pay raise by joining the U.S. Army (yes, that’s how badly newspaper work paid!) and began moving around. In my 10 years of active duty, I did tours in Panama and Korea, and visited Australia on my mid-tour leave in November 1999.
My husband, Will, is a retired SFC and electrician who treasures the time he spent in Germany. Specifically Bavaria, having been stationed in Augsburg. Together and dragging the kids, we’ve been making up for my lost travel time. After our 2017 trip to Iceland and England, I decided to enter the travel industry. Gettysburg Travel Co. opened in February of 2018.
Enter COVID about two years later. I spent all of 2020 chasing refunds for my clients and going back full time to the operating room. Many days, I said I would never book another trip. But it is unbelievably rewarding to be part of someone’s extraordinary vacation.
Our medical community definitely needed vacations! When I ramped up the business again, I was determined to serve healthcare professionals with getaways that were worthy of their hard-earned (and difficult to schedule) PTO. I manage our special programs for medical staffers, serve clients (healthcare workers or not) by appointment, and run TravelHelpSTAT.com.
Meet Abbey Doolittle
Your New Adventure Travel Specialist
Hi, I’m Abbey Doolittle — a passionate traveler, thrill seeker, and your newest travel agent! I’m married with a lively home full of love, shared with three adventurous pups and one sassy cat. When I’m not planning the next unforgettable trip, you might find me in an operating room as a Certified Surgical Technologist, or crushing it in the CrossFit gym, constantly pushing my limits and chasing new challenges.
Since I was young, I’ve had a deep love for exploring the world. I believe we should work to live — not live to work — and travel is one of the most rewarding ways to truly live. From lounging on the powder-soft sands of Half Moon Cay to swimming alongside dolphins in Falmouth, Jamaica, or standing in awe at the historical charm of Grand Turk — these moments fuel my soul and are the kind I love to create for others.
Whether you’re looking to soak in the culture, history and cuisine of a new destination, or zipline across an island for the ultimate adrenaline rush, I’m here to help you every step of the way. I specialize in crafting personalized, exciting, and meaningful getaways — because your adventure should be as unique as you are.
Let’s make your dream vacation a reality!
